New Series on Feminist Leadership

Updated: Jul 9, 2022

I never used to call myself a feminist. I didn’t necessarily disavow feminism–it just wasn’t a label I used to describe myself or my work. Was it because I took too much for granted, or because it seemed to exclude other sites of oppression? I’m not sure. But as I’ve searched for ways to articulate complex ideas in simple ways, feminism seems to fit my ideology and goals–if only for lack of a better word. I thank those who brought this to light for me. But to adopt feminism as an overarching idea under which multiple approaches fit so that it is inclusive but still coherent, I need (dare I say the world needs) to think about and describe feminism in new ways.

To this end, I will be sharing my ideas about feminism–in particular feminist leadership–through a series of posts at Jesstopia.

  1. October 11, 2021 – The Trouble with Feminism

  2. October 25, 2021 – Redefining Feminist Leadership for all of us

  3. November 8, 2021 – My Introduction to Feminism

  4. November 22, 2021 – Why Our World Needs Feminist Leadership

  5. December 6, 2021 – How to Be a Feminist at Work

  6. December 20, 2021 – How Feminism Can Help You Be a Better Leader

These essays will both set out a framework for what I call integrative feminism and also provide some practical insight into how feminism can operate in our day-to-day work.
